With the rapid development of China's electrolytic aluminum, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and machinery industries, the market demand for alumina still has considerable room for growth, and alumina production will continue to increase. Based on China's alumina production data from 2005 to 2010, it is projected that China's alumina output will reach 33 million tons in 2011, representing a 14% growth rate. Production is expected to continue growing in 2012, exceeding 38 million tons. Furthermore, given the sustained substantial annual growth in China's construction area under development and the ongoing urbanization drive, the future outlook for the aluminum industry is highly optimistic. China's alumina demand is projected to grow by 15% year-on-year to 38.19 million tons in 2011, reaching 42 million tons in 2012 with a 10% year-on-year increase.
